lapis hawflakes orange for his wedding

hajat hati i nak buat cupcakes macam ni je sebab i yang suka sangat dengan swans tu…ini gambar lama ye! early last year kot i buatkan cupcake ni for a fren’s sister

tapi sebab my mom nak jugak layer cakes maka i buat je lah hawflakes layer ni. btw, layer cakes ni kan tahan lasak and lebih sedap if nak compare with cupcakes fondant macam kat atas tu..owh! itu kata tekak i ni ye! tekak orang lain, lain pulak rasa dia

well, lucky me coz the other day ternampak hawflakes layer ni at rima’s and as usual rasa nak makan tu mula lah datang heheh i yang nak makan sebenarnya kan! sebab tu i tk kisah bila mak i suh buat layer cake :PP

hokkay, here’s the recipe, copied from here ! to both of them, thanks a bunch for sharing this wonderful recipe ye!

lapis hawflakes orange

Bahan A
300gm mentega
150gm gula kaster  (saya guna 120gm shj)
14 biji kuning telur
5 sudu makan susu pekat manis

Bahan B
150gm gula kaster  (saya guna 120 gm sahaja)
7 biji putih telur
1/4 sudu teh serbuk krim of tartar


Bahan C
180gm tepung Hong Kong
1 sudu teh serbuk penaik


Bahan D
1 sudu teh pewarna oren (saya guna wilton gel kaler oren )
2 sudu teh pes oren 


Bahan D
10 bungkus asam keping hawflakes


Bahan Sapuan (3 sudu makan majerin + 2 sudu makan susu pekat manis) – saya guna melted butter sahaja 


Panaskan ketuhar pada suhu 175c selama 15 minit. Sediakan tin pembakar 8in x 8in (loose base tin)


Cara-cara :

1. Bahan A : Satukan mentega, gula kastor, susu pekat manis dan esen vanila dalam mangkuk adunan. Pukul dengan kelajuan tinggi selama 10 minit hingga berkrim.
2. Masukkan kuning telur sedikit-sedikit sambil dipukul hingga sebati. Tuangkan adunan mentega ini ke dalam mangkuk yang besar, ketepikan.

3. Bahan B : Di dalam bekas lain, pukul putih telur hingga berbuih. Masukkan gula kastor dan krim tartar. Pukul lagi selama 5 minit hingga adunan kembang dan bertanduk.

4. Bahan C : Masukkan tepung Hong Kong dan serbuk penaik ke dalam adunan mentega tadi. Gaul perlahan-lahan hingga sebati.

5. Tuangkan pula adunan putih telur tadi. Gaul hingga adunan bercampur rata.  Bahagikan adunan kepada 2 bahagian.  Satu bahagian dicampur dengan bahan D (pes oren dan warna oren) dan satu bahagian lagi dibiarkan dengan warna asal.

6. saya masukkan sebanyak 5 tbsp adunan warna asal ke dalam tin pembakar, ratakan dan bakar dengan api atas dan bawah selama 10 minit atau hingga kek berwarna perang.

7. keluarkan dari oven dan ratakan dengan presser (boleh juga guna sudu makan) agar keluar air bubble

 
8. then sapukan permukaan kek ini dgn sedikit bahan sapuan.

9. Kemudian masukkan 5 tbsp adunan oren sebagai lapisan kedua. Susun kepingan asam manis dan bakar dgn api atas sahaja hingga masak.

10. ulang proses ini sehingga habis adunaan. selang seli antara warna asal dengan warna oren, hawflakes cuma untuk lapisan oren sahaja. dan jangan lupa tekan setiap lapisan bila dah siap di bakar ye!

Untuk lapisan akhir sekali, saya guna warna oren dan bakar dulu selama 7 minit guna api atas sahaja

kemudian keluarkan bekas tadi dan balut dengan aluminium foil dan masukkan balik bekas tadi dan bakar lagi selama 15  minit guna api atas dan bawah ye!

note ** kalau masa membakar lapisan yang makin atas, turunkan bekas bakar tu ke bahagian bawah sikit ye sebab takut terhangus pulak. selalunya saya taruk kat middle rack tu and bila dah last last tu saya taruk kat rak paling bawah je

terjumpa sepacket nachos ke cachos ke dalam gerobok. as usual nachos ni sedap kalau makan dengan tomato dip tu. so, apalagi mari kita buatkan dip or pencicahnya :D

sedikit chicken breast ( di potong kecil2, cuci dan toskan)

1/2 biji bawang besar (diced)

1 biji tomato - diced

5 tbsp tomato puree

sedikit dried oregano (optional)

1/4 cup of milk (saya guna low fat)

olive oil untuk menumis

panaskan olive oil dan tumis bawng besar sehingga wangi

then masukkan ayam tadi – kacau hingga ayam masak

then tomato dan milk, kacau lagi hingga mendidih

and then masukkan tomato puree dan garam serta oregano

meringue kisses mmuah!

patutnya nak spring cleaning rumah tapi ternampak egg whites belen buat layer cakes semalam masih ada kat dalam peti ais tu

semalam nak buang sayang, simpan dulu kot kot rajin nak buat something else. tapi memang vitamin R tu dah fades away dah. so i just pejam mata and throw aje lah those egg whites tu tapi sempat tinggalkan sikit about sebiji lebih sikit kot and i tukarkan the egg white tu jadi these meringue kisses.

buat sikit aje pun tapi banyak biji jugak dapatnya. ingat nak taruk atas hantaran my brother nanti tapi hasya dok asyik pulun makan pulak…”sedap and crunchy” hasya kata escpecially part yang ada choccolate coating tu..i kata a bit manis and the other half pulak kata “apa nih? tkde rasa apa pun” huh, sah sah taste bud dia dah gone with the wind dah ahaha suka hati i je kata kat my other half tu ye!

anyway, here’s the recipe. took it from alex goh cooking book. next time if buat lagi i kena kurangkan gula sikit lagi and taruk choc coating tu banyak lg lah ye!

meringue kisses

bahan bahan

2 egg whites

180 gm caster sugar

1/4 tsp cream of tartar

1/2 tbsp cornflour

150 gm cooking chocolate (melt kan guna double boiler ye!)

 

cara cara

whisk the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peak forms (kembang and berbuih gitu) the add the sugar sikit sikit while continue to whisk until well blended and menjadi agak pekat ye!

then stopkan mixer and add cornflour and kaup balik adunan hingga rata

then masukkan adunan ni dalam piping bag fitted with big star nozzle and pipekan ke atas baking paper

then bake in preheated oven 130C for 1 hour or until crispy

sejukkan dan dipkan meringue tadi ke dalam melted cooking chocolate tadi 

then letak atas baking paper hingga chocolate itu keras

malam tadi i was so penat, macam nak demam pun ada

agaknya kejer lebih kot ;-)  (apa yg lebih pun tatau???)

anyway, sebab i kepenatan maka dinner malam tadi adalah acara menghabiskan segala mak nenek eh takde pulak mak dan nenek saya kat sini  yang ada dalam fridge..weekend nanti kan nak balik kampung so, segala apa yang ada harus di habiskan ye!

terjumpa macaroni yang dah siap di rebus sehari sebelum tu maka teringat shidah pernah buat pasta ala lasagne ni so, i pun main belasah je lah buat mac ala lasagne ni ikut sesedap apa yang ada je lah! nasib baik ada sikit minced beef, boleh buat meat sauce and then meat sauce tu jugak boleh jadi hasya punya spag sauce jugak kan! just add a little bit of water and voila! siap hasya punya spag bolognese ;-)

as for the other half yang tak suka mac and tak suka lasagne, dia sendiri buat sandwich je READ:- dia sendiri buat ye! i was so tired to do anything else except for eat and eat hahaha dahlah makan cheese..hadoiiii pastu takut demuk kan! anyway, after CNY ni kena mula balik jogging 3km per day ( boleh ka?)

anyway, back to my mac ala lasagne… well, u know lah kan bila dah tak larat, i tk perasan pun my oven tu rupanya ter”set” kat upper fire je..so u can imagine la..the upper part of my lasagne hampir rentungs ye!

hokkay, here’s my agaks agaks recipe ye! ini untuk satu mangkuk kecik or enough for one or two saja tau!

ingredients

i  only have about segenggam lebih sikit macaroni yang dah di rebus ( belum rebus tatau byk mana tu…so, agaks agaks je lah ye!

for the meat sauce -  ingredients

3 tbsp olive oil

1 red onion finely chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

about 300gm minced beef

2 biji tomato – diced

1 tsp salt

3 tbsp tomato puree

about 1/4 cup of water

for Creme/bechamel sauce – ingredients

2 tbsp  butter

2 tbsp flour

1  1/4 cup of fresh milk

1 slice of cheddar cheese, grated

salt and pepper

method for the meat sauce

heat the oil in the pan, add onion and garlic

then add the minced beef and tumis ke goreng hingga kering air tu

then add diced tomato, biar kejap hingga tomato agak lembik then add tomato puree and add of water

add the salt and cook for a few minutes until the sauce is thickened. tutup api and biarkan!

method for cream/ bechamel sauce

then in different pan, melt the butter and stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes

remove the pan from the heat and slowly add the milk. make sure kacau ye sebab tak nak bagi berketul ketul

then return the pan back to the heat and bring it to boil, stir until the cream sauce is thickened.

leave to cool slightly and add salt and pepper and the grated cheese

then masukkan macaroni selapis dalam bekas tahan panas, cover with meat sauce, then macaroni again, and then lapis dengan cream sauce and then macaroni again and last skali meat sauced and cover dengan grated cheddar cheese and parmeesan cheese

bake in the preheated oven at 175 degree for 30 minutes or until it becomes brown

ada cocoa, ada mocha dan ada lapis lapis

hmmmm what would you say when you see all these?  owh! kalau tanya i, mestilah…i cakap  i WANT  i WANT them ALL ye! takmo separuh separuh…nak suma jugak..heheh itu kata i lah ye sebab i heart anything with cocoa or chocolate and i heart mocha flavor and most of all i HEART layer cake!

kalau tanya i lah kan! cake ni bagus bangat combination dia tu sebab when u eat, memang terasa cocoa and mocha nya ye! even hasya pun suka..eh eh lupa plak, kanak kanak itu dah ikut macam i plak bila makan kek ni… ehehe dia pun ikut tutup mata masa memula taste this layer cake semata mata nak feel lelebih macam mommy dia pulak ala ala mommy borek anak rintik ye! eh, betul ke tu?

 

anyway, i saw this layer cake at rima’s a couple of months ago and since mode berdiri lelama kat dapur tak datang lagi masa tu maka kena lah tangguh dulu hajat nak makan kek ni. semalam baru datang angin rajin, so terhasillah kek ni…owh! the original recipe came from citarasawan. thank you to both ladies for sharing this wonderful recipe and here’s the recipe ye!

cocoa mocha layer cake

bahan bahan

(A)
250g butter  - saya guna anchor butter
150g sugar
14 egg yolks
5 tbsp condense milk

(B)
150g sugar  - saya guna 120 gm
7 egg white
1/4 tsp cream of tartar


(C)
160g Hong Kong flour
40g horlick (tak masukkan, so i used 200g of hongkong flour)
1 tsp baking powder


(D)
a) 1/4 tsp yellow coloring + 1 tsp vanilla essence
b) 1 tbsp mocha emulco – saya guna mocha flavor and sedikit wilton gel brown color
c) 1/2 tbsp chocolate emulco  + 2 tbsp cocoa powder + 3 tbsp hot water - mix everything into paste


Preheat oven 175C for 15 mins.. greased 8x8" pan


Cara cara


1. untuk bahan A, Whisk butter, sugar and condensed milk till white and creamy. Add in egg yolks one at a time and continue to whisk till well combined - set aside.

 
2. untuk bahan B : In another bowl.. whisk egg white with cream of tartar till bubbly.. add in sugar a little at a time till soft peak.


3. then fold in carefully sifted flour, horlicks and baking powder into A..

4. Once mixed add in B and mix till well blended


5. weigh the batter and divide it into into 3 portion

- then add one portion with yellow color and vanilla essence

- add another portion with mocha

- and add the last portion with chocolate emulco and cocoa paste

6. bakar chocolate layer first and make sure use the upper and lower fire for the first layer.  saya guna 5 tbsp untuk setiap layer. bakar selama 7 minit untuk setiap layer

7. untuk layer kedua dan seterusnya, guna api atas sahaja atau api untuk grill ye! each layer have to be pressed and brushed with melted butter

8. habiskan chocolate portion first then continue with mocha  portion and lastly is the yellow portion..
9. Bake last layer using upper and lower fire for 15 mins. ( i baked for 7 minutes first and then cover the pan with aluminium foil and continue to bake for another 8 minutes)

finally, after 9 1/2 hours…..my beef stew is ready

lama kan nak memasaknya!! well, kalau dah namanya masak guna slow cooker memanglah lama nak tunggu air tu mendidih then nak tunggu daging tu empuk pulak.

anyway, lama pun lama lah kan sebab i tak sanggup nak tunggu masak kat atas dapur selama beberapa jam, malas pun ada hikhik. slow cooker ni kan dah berzaman dah tak di gunapakai, i remember last skali guna masa i kejer dulu and masa tu kena masakkan bubur for little hasya. iyalah kan, pepagi nak rushing pi kejer, pastu babay sitter plak tknak buatkan bubur so, i taruk je everything in slow cooker and the next day tu bubur dah siap dah. well, that was 3 yrs ago kot! now slow cooker ni dok diam diam dalam store room until semalam i amik and guna dia balik…ada gak gunanya dia kan!

hokkay, sebenarnya dah lama nak try buat beef stew ni tapi tak terbuat buat jugak. kira hari hari jugaklah i dok tengok kat allrecipe tu segala jenis mak nenek resepi beef stew ni tapi masih tak buat jugak until lah a few days ago nampak kat blog shidah. short cut, i amik je resepi yang shidah dah cuba ni and buat malam tadi..hmmmm memang worth la hidung i dok terbau bau stew for 1/2 a day semalam :D

ini recipenya ye! originate from allrecipe and i copy je from shidah. thanks eh shidah for sharing this. memang sedap, my hb pun kata sedap ;-) buleh buat lagi lah tu kan :D

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds cubed beef stew meat 
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons margarine  ( i guna butter)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp thick soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups water mixed with beef stock (i guna stock  pati daging knorr)
Directions
  1. Dredge beef cubes in flour until evenly coated.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet, and cook coated beef cubes until evenly browned. Add chopped onion.
  3. Once the onion has turned brown, transfer beef to slow cooker and add carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, salt, sugar, pepper, thick soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce. Pour in water and stir.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW 10 to 12 hours or on HIGH 5 to 6 hours. Serve hot!!(my slow cooker tkde LOW ke HIGH ke, dia kena ON je, so i cooked for 9 1/2 hrs ;-))

Note : if the stew is too thin, melt butter, add few tbsp flour, cook until brown, add 1 cup of water, stir it, then pour it into the stew. If the mixture is lumpy, blend it before pouring into the stew.

 

after 9 1/2 hrs in the slow cooker, meat tu sungguh lah empuknya!

Sicilian Orange Cake – now u see, now u don’t ;-)

serious ni tau! tak pernah pernah buat cake or cupcakes yang sekejap je habis lincin di balun kami kami 3 stooges  beranak nih LOL :-D

 

it’s either the 3 of us kelaparan bangat or memang we all memang suka kek ni pun i tatau hikhik…. masa the oven berbunyi “ting” tu all of us baru je habis makan dinner (eh apa kami makan ye itu hari sampai kelaparan lagi nih? owh! we just had pasta n soup je) and agaknya masa tu tengah dok pikir what’s for dessert kot walhal memang takde dessert pun and fruits pun tarak jugak. that’s why la bila oven berbunyi je terus the other half tanya what’s in the oven?

when i told him that i make sicilian orange cake, dia bolayan aje..tak sukak katanya tapi bila i makan and then hasya pun join skali sambil mulut dia tak henti henti cakap, “this is yummy mommy, i like it so much”  and then nasib baik sambil i makan sambil tu i amik gambar jugak ye! if i tk buat cam tu memang sah sah takkan ado gambor nya nih hahaha…. tengoklah tangan siapa ni yang tengah tak sabar nak makan ni :D

hasya makan yang atas dulu, crunchy kata dia..itu pasal i suka buat dalam paper cup ni..senang hasya nak makan and sungguh senang kejer i coz tak payah nak potong2 bagai

anyway, here’s the recipe. always saw it at rima’s and also at yat’s place and this recipe i copy from yat. thanks to both ladies who always mentioned that this cake is super duper yummeh..and erghhh memang yummeh pon! we HEART it so much :-)

next time taknak buat 1/2 batter lagi..itu hari dapatlah 6 biji L size cupcakes and 1 small size bundt pan..huh, tak cukup babe! memang kena buat whole batter la;-)

 

sicilian orange cake

ingredients

250 g lightly salted butter, at room temperature, plus extra for greasing

250 g caster sugar

4 medium eggs

1 1/2 tsp finely grated orange zest

250 g self raising flour 

85 ml freshly squeezed orange juice

 

For the icing:

125 g icing sugar ( i cuma sempat sprinkle icing sugar je)

5 tsp freshly squeezed orange juice ( tk taruk pun)

 

Method

Preheat the oven to 170C. Grease and line a 22-cm clip-sided round cake with non-stick baking paper.

Using an electric whisk, cream the butter and sugar together for 4-5 minutes until very pale. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating very well between each one, if necessary adding a spoonful of flour with the last egg to prevent the mixture from curdling. Beat in the orange zest. Add the flour all at once and mix in well, then slowly mix in the orange juice.

Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer, inserted into the centre of the cake, comes out clean. If it starts to brown too quickly, cover loosely with a sheet of lightly buttered foil.

Leave the cake, in its tin, to cool on a wire rack, then carefully remove the sides and base of the tin and peel off the paper. Put it onto a serving plate.

For the icing, sift the icing sugar into a bowl and stir in the orange juice until you have a spreadable consistency. Spread it over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides, and leave to set. Serve cut into slices, and store any leftovers in an airtight container.

antara roti dan biskut kering

actually ada my fren mintak tolong i buatkan bread pudding for her. itu hari dah buat dah tapi this time mintak lagi..sedap dia kata…errr sedap la tu kan kalau dah mintak lagi nih ahaha :D

masa dia mintak tu cepat je i kata ok sebab i suka buat bread pudding…eh, buka suka buat je tapi suka makan bread pudding jugak ahaha :D

 

anyway, resepi bread pudding ni i dah taruk sini cuma this time i taruk dalam bekas cupcake yang kecik2 tu…and resepi vanilla sauce pulak kat sini ye!

 

 

and ini pulak sardine creacker pie yang i dah buat  a few days ago tapi asyik terlupa nak postkan entry

rumah i ni jarang ada biskut kering, kalau ada pun marie biscuits je sebab hasya suka n pastu boleh lah diguna pakai untuk buat macam2 kan! then itu hari ada orang bagi sebungkus biskut gula kat we all tapikan, biasa la..kurang laku la kan…so, dudukla biskut gula tu tejeelpuk dalam gobok, tiap kali bukak gobok mesti nampak tapi tk tak tau nak wat apa ngan biskut ni, nak makan plak tak suka…alahai memilihnya dia ye!

then itu hari one of my blogger friend (owh, her father passed away 2 days ago, al-fatihah untuk arwah dan takziah untuk keluarga beliau) ni sibuk dok citer pasal sardine cracker pie ni sedap and dia suh i buat jugak and try jugak…so i pun try la walaupun i ada play cheat sikit..eh tidak tidak…i play cheat banyak jugak ahaha :D

so mari kita lihat resepi dan apa yang i cheating tu ye!

ingredients
1) beberapa keping biskut Jagung  - saya guna biskut gula – itu je yg i cheating :D
2) Fresh Milk/Low Fat ke apa ke  - i guna low fat milk
3) Minced beef/ satu tin sardin  (I guna sardin)
4)Serbuk Kari, Daun Curry, Sedikit cili boh
5) 2, 3 biji bawang kecil, dimayang untuk tumis
6) Sedikit mentega -sapu atas baking pan


method

- tumis bawang, daun kari, rempah kari, dah naik bau masukkan beef or sardin tu, goreng rata sampai masak (sebab I guna sardin - so I hancur hancurkan isi dia masa goreng tu and i perahkan sedikit jus limau nipis ye!) - bila dah well cooked, put aside


- Then rendam biskut satu, satu dalam fresh milk -

bila dah lembik , letakkan biskut tadi ke dalam loyang  pembakar yang dah di sapu butter tadi ye!

- letak sehingga menutupi permukaan loyang

- then letakkan sardine tadi

- then letak lagi biskut yang dah di rendam di atas lapisan sardine tadi ( macam buat lasagna la ni)

- then letak sardine lagi skali

- and lapisan atas/last tu letak lagi lapisan biskut yang dah di rendam ye! i buat 3 lapis je…if nak lagi tinggi lapisan, taruk lagi banyak sardine and lg banyak biskut lah eh

- then bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes at 175 C

her fluffy banana cekodok ;-)

itu hasya yang panggil ye! i plak kata banana cupcake ni sebijik macam rasa banana cupcake yang i slalu makan masa kekecik dulu… hasya suka and dah tentu tentulah i pun suka :D

actually nak buat apam beras yg biasa tu untuk hasya tapi teringat izah ada buat muffin pisang coklat itu hari. kengkonon nak cuba lah tapi rupanya cocoa powder pun dah habis dong! so, i omit the cocoa powder and pastu terperasan plak brown sugar pun tarak..i used the normal castor sugar instead

the end product..jadi lah this fluffy banana cekodok for hasya ehehe :D

anyway, i don’t know lah, bila tengok izah buat cantik aje mekarnya tapi kenapa lah i punya tk mekar mekar ni.

well, no big deal pun cupcake ni tak mekar coz i like it so much..bak kata hasya, “this cekodok is sooo fluffy” haaa memang fluffy sangat..berbijik bijik dah we all duorg makan hikhik

Bahan A [Ayakkan]
1 cawan tepung gandum

3/4 cawan gula perang  ( saya guna 1/2 cawan gula castor)
1 biji telur [pukul sedikit ngan garfu]

Cara
1. Ayakkan bahan A dan masukkan dalam mangkuk.
2. Masukkan bahan B dan kacau rata.
3. Masukkan dalam acuan kecil atau loyang.
4. Kukuskan selama 30 minit atau sehingga masak

i heart salmon, tak kira lah salmon shashimi ka, smoked salmon ka, grilled salmon ka, salad salmon ka..apa apa yang ada salmon i suka la..errr kari salmon blm try lagi ye!

halamak!!! sebut salmon ni pun buat i terasa nak makan lagi nih…adoiiii teruk sungguh kan i ni :D anyway, my other half pulak kurang suka and ketidaksukaan the other half tu dah berjangkit kat hasya tapi hasya senang je sebab i slalu masukkan isi salmon tu dalam soup dia, dia manalah tau itu salmon ke tak kan!…hihi dia makan aje :D

sebab the other half tak suka salmon maka i memang sangat jarang makan salmon kat rumah tapi kalau i dah tak tahan sangat keteringinan tu, i ajak je dia pun makan sushi sebab kat situ i boleh balun salmon and dia boleh makan benda benda lain kan! lagi satu tiap kali the other half outstation, memang for sure mesti ada one day tu i akan buat grilled salmon macam dinner tadi…hikhik sukak hati dapat makan salmon nih :D

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 biji bawang putih – minced kan
  • sedikit blackpepper – kalau ada lemon pepper lagi bagus tau!
  • sekeping salmon- kalau fillet pun ok gak
  • 1/2 biji lemon – perah jusnya

Directions

  1. sapukan kepingan salmon tadi dengan blackpepper dan biar seketika
  2. then, panaskan butter di dalam pan and then masukkan minced garlic tadi
  3. kacau sekejap and then masukkan salmon tadi and biar sehingga salmon tadi masak, terbalikkan ke sebelah satu lagi
  4. angkat dan perahkan juice lemon ke atas salmon tadi sebelum di hidangkan

pasta tu i guna spiral pasta and then campur je dengan sedikit baby butterhead salad, sedikit capsicum hijau, carrot and celery stick. this time tak guna any salad dressing pun , cuma taruk 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, sedikit olive oil and 1 tsp mayonaise and sedikit lemon juice. well, itu je bahan yang ada kat rumah tadi…jadi masuk je lah segala apa yang ada kan ;-)

yuppp mommy made blueberry muffins for me…yeeehaaaa!! suka lah dia ye! siap bilang sama i nanti nak share with friends kat kindy. well, actually hasya slalu bawak lunch box a.k.a bekal pi kindy and bila break time tu dia slalu makan apa yg i bekalkan je lah…pastu kan, almost every time balik dari kindy dia bgtau i yang her friends slalu mintak dia punya food..errr sedap lah kot food hasya walaupun cuma bread and jam saja hikhik kanak kanak kan…

anyway, since ada fresh blueberries kat rumah ni so tadi pagi i buat kan ths quick and easy muffin. boleh lah nanti hasya share ngan her friends kan!

hokkay, here’s the recipe

as usual, i amik from my 500cupcakes n muffins book

ingredients

125gm caster sugar

1 tbsp lemon zest

265 gm flour

1 tbsp baking powder

2 lightly beaten eggs

225 ml milk ( i used low fat)

115 gm unsalted butter, melted

1 tsp vanilla essence

225 gm fresh or thawed frozen blueberries

method

preheat oven to 200 C

in a bowl, stir the sugar, flour, lemon zest and baking powder with a spoon

then in a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, butter, milk and vanilla essence until smooth about 1 minute

then add the dry ingredients and blueberries and stir until the blueberries are just combined

then spoon the batter into muffin cups

bake for 20-25 minutes

tastewise…hmmm yummeh bebeh :D hahaha memang sah sah masuk bakul angkat sendiri ni kan!

anyway, the taste was really good ok… the thing is i remember reading in kak anymz’s blog about how she add campbell mushroom soup in her shepherd’s pie. i ni kalau buat SP ni memang tak pernah taruk campbell soup, so ingat nak mencuba lah kan! wellllll, being me yang aaaaamat lazy nak mencari balik recipe tu, so i main hentam aje lah dengan apa yang ada kat my kitchen tu and sesungguhnya in my kitchen memang sah sah takde campbell mushroom soup coz all this while makan homemade mushroom soup je and guess what?  i ada leftover homemade mushroom soup ehehe..lebey kurang sama lah tu kan :O so mari lah kita sesuka hati buat shepherd’s pie ye!

anyway kak anym, tadi saya dah selongkar dapur akak and dah berjaya amik resepi akak tu…so, saya tampal sini version akak untuk rujukan saya nanti nanti ehehe and my version plak in blue color ye!

bahan2

500gm daging kisar – saya guna 350 gm sahaja

1 ulas bawang putih-di cincang – saya tak masukkan

1 labu bawang besar-di potong dadu – saya tak masukkan tapi ganti dengan sebatang leek yang di hiris nipis

1 1/2 cawan mix vege – saya tak masukkan tapi ganti dengan carrot sahaja

8 biji cendawan dalam tin-di belah 4 – saya tak masukkan

3 biji buah tomato masak – saya guna sebiji and potong kecik kecik

2 batang daun celery-di racik halus – saya tak masukkan

1 1/2 sb lada hitam-di tumbuk – saya guna ground blackpepper abt 1 tbsp

1 kiub stok daging – saya masukkan 1/2 kiub chicken stok

sedikit garam-jika perlu.akak letak sikiit sangat sebab cheese dan kiub dah masin – saya tak masukkan

1 bungkus mozarella cheese – saya hanya parut secawan mozarella cheese sebab itu je yg ada huhu

1 tin campbell mushroom sup – saya suma guna leftover mushroom soup – about 2 cawan

cara

panaskan minyak tapi akak guna 2 sb besar mentega  - saya guna olive oil

tumis bawang besar dan bawang putih – saya tumis leek hingga layu

masukan daging kisar dan cendawan.kacau rata hingga daging masak. saya masukkan daging kisar sahaja

masukan tomato dan semua bahan lain kecuali cheese. saya masukkan chicken stock, tomato,blackpepper dan carrot

dan gaul rata hingga masak.

 

bahan2 kentang atau mash potato

1 kg kentang-akak buang kulit,cuci bersih kemudian kukus hingga kentang lembut – saya guna 4 biji kentang yang agak besar, buang kulit dan rebus

1/2 cawan susu segar –  saya guna low fat milk and main hentam je taruk banyak mana hikhik

2 sb mentega  – saya tak taruk pun

serbuk lada sulah dan sedikit garam – ini pun main hentam taruk banyak mana

cara

kentang dilecek dan di gaul bersama susu dan lada sulah

cara nak buat Pie

sedia kan bekas kaca atau acuan pie

ambil mash potato dan ratakan dalam acuan – saya tak taruk sebab tk cukup mashed potato so saya terus taruk inti tadi dalam bekas pie

masukan inti daging

tutup dgn mash potato semula – then saya pipekan mashed potato tadi on top – senang je kan!

akhir sekali taburkan mozarella cheese di atas permukaan – saya parutkan mozarella cheese

bakar di dalam oven yang sudah di panaskan 200 c selama 30 minit atau sehingga permukaan atas keperang perangan  - saya pun bakar macam gini jugak :D

nasi lemak sambal bilis for moi and nasi lemak sambal ikan for ma cheri

pagi tadi masak nasi lemak..ehehe dah petang baru tekedek kedek nak update :D

bukan apa, banyak tul benda nak wat tadi plus mata yang sungguh mengantuk tahap gaban tuh…owh, saya tidak ketiduran ye! cuma sedang menahan mata dari tertutup je ni :D

anyway, kalau masak nasi lemak, the other half sure mintakkan sambal ikan tongkol a.k.a ikan aya ni… i boleh lah layankan tapi i lagi suka sambal bilis

so tadi i buat dua dua sambal…ehehe actually tadi wat sambal ikan je sebab sambal bilis tu i reheat je sambal yang i amik from freezer haha kan senang tu :D

resepi sambal ikan dah di taruk sini cuma this time i taruk je ikan tu dalam sambal tu masa sambal tu tengah masak kat atas dapur…biar sampai sambal tu agak pekat and then tutup je lah api

as for sambal bilis, this time i buat sambal bilis lebur je…tengok recipe at hana’s place but sungguh malas nak cari balik so, i main hentam je blendkan cili kering ngan bawang putih n merah and then panaskan minyak and taruk je cili bawang blend tadi and pastu taruk je bilis yang dah di cuci and then taruk je sebiji bawang besar yg di hiris and then taruk garam and gula…then i biar je kat atas api kecik sampai lah sambal tu agak kering…btw, kena lah rasa masin ke tak sambal tu b4 tutup api ye! eh, sambal ni tersangatlah sedapnya :D

RESEPI NASI LEMAK HARUM LIMAU PURUT

Bahan-bahan

  • 2 cawan beras
  • 2 cawan santan cair @ ikut sukatan air beras masing-masing
  • 4-5 helai daun limau purut
  • 1 batang serai - diketuk - x letak hana ganti halia dan halba – i taruk halia je, halba habis daaaa….nasi lemak taruk halba lg sedap tau!
  • sedikit garam
Cara-cara
  • Cuci beras bersih-bersih dan masukkan dalam rice cooker/periuk.
  • Masukkan santan, daun limau purut, serai dan sedikit garam. Kacau sebati.
  • Masak seperti nasi biasa sehingga masak. Bila dah masak, balik-balikkan sikit permukaan nasi agar berderai.
  • Siap dan sedia untuk dihidangkan dengan sambal bilis, telur rebus atau lauk pilihan mengikut selera.

chocolate bottom banana square, only 1/2 square saja for me ;-)

wah wah adakah sebab saya nak diet eh?

owh tidak tidak..bukan sebab i nak diet pun..errrr cakap je tahun baru ni kena shed few kilosss but then makan still makan dengan jayanya tau! i think i’m not the kind of person yang boleh diet kot sebabnya i ni memang pantang sungguh bila nampak any types of food, musti , harus akan teringin memakannya…hmmmm kalau nak kurus gak, nampak gayanya kenalah lari keliling rumah bak kata anie ehehe

anyway, talking about anie, this yummy chocolate bottom ni i amik dari sana lah ye! ternampak dia buat itu hari and terkebetulan semalam pagi i ternampak ada bananas kat rumah and terkebetulan jugak i nak pi lunch ngan kengkawan i, so bulehlah mencuba cuba buatkan choc bottom banana square ni kan…buleh ler bagi kengkawan i merasa gak kan! bila dah potong potong and masukkan dalam box, tinggallah 3 ketui je for us…enough la kan..memang dah hajat nak bg kengkawan kan…then petang tu nasib baik i sempat posingkan 3 ketui ni before habis di balun my other half…sedap la tu kot…i cuma sempat merasa 1/2 of it je…i mean half of the square tu je tau! bukan half dari 3 ketui tu ye!

anyway, here’s the recipe, to anie, please allow me to paste it here for my reference jugak ye! 

anie makes 24 squares  but i don’t remember how many i got ehehe…btw, i used 9x9” pan


Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar ( I only added 3/4 cup)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups mashed banana (about 3 medium bananas)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 cup chocolate chips

(i sprinkled with almond flakes) 

Instructions:

1. In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and bananas, beating thoroughly.
2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
3. Divide batter in half. Add the cocoa to one portion of the batter. Spread that portion in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Spoon remaining batter on top, swirling gently with butter knife if desired, and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until batter tests done with a toothpick or fork. Cool and cut into 24 squares

honey baked chicken and mashed potato in a boat

ini dinner dua hari lepas daaa. keterlupaan nak update earlier…jadi semua ni dah habis lincin dah jadi baja dah pun hahaha :D

anyway, chicken ni sedap…ada sticky sticky sikit coz taruk honey kan! and of course ada rasa manis manis sikit tapi sebab i makan ngan blackpepper punya gravy so macam macam rasa lah ada hikhik suka hati i je pi buat blackpepper gravy kan! actually kat recipe tu tak mention pun kena makan ngan gravy tapi u know lah my other half tu kalau chicken macam gini kena jugak makan ngan gravy…so i pun buat je lah…anyway, dia kata sedap tambah lagi bila di makan ngan daun salad tu…uhhh tersedak kejap i masa dengar dia kata sedap makan ngan salad sebabnya my other half tu maaaaana lah suka makan salad ni..well, looks like after this boleh lah wat lagi chicken ni ye!

i amik kat allrecipe je

 

 

Ingredients
  • 1 (2 to 3 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces – i cuma guna 6 ketul ayam je
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – i taruk 1 tbsp – i parut je fresh garlic tu
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper  - i taruk 1/2 tbsp
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey  - i taruk 2 tbsp
  • 4 tablespoons margarine, melted – i used unsalted butter
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Rub chicken pieces with garlic powder, salt and pepper. In a small bowl, beat egg yolk with honey and butter or margarine, then brush this mixture over chicken pieces. Place chicken pieces, skin side down, in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 45 to 60 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear, basting with remaining butter or margarine. Just before serving, turn chicken over and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes to cook the skin on the other side.

 

as for the mashed potato tu pulak, i buat je macam kak LG buat. baked the potato in the oven sampai masak. then cool it first then baru scoop isi tu and mashed dengan sedikit milk, white pepper, salt and grated cheddar cheese. then i masukkan balik dalam “potato boat” tu and grill kejap until the cheese dah melt.

a pineapple, a jello and a cake

 

 

remember my masak lemak ketam with nenas the other day? haaa i still have half of the pineapple ye! actually ingat nak masak pajeri but then asyik tak makan nasi je memalam, so pajeri pun dah hilang ntah ke mana dah

kemarin dah masukkan dalam rojak and then semalam hasya mintak buatkan jello for her and kesian plak tengok dia makan plain jello tu so i add sedikit pineapples for her…suka lah dia :D

then ada lagi sikit..errr besar bebetul ye my pineapple tu eh ;-) ehehe takde lah besar mana pun tapikan kalau pineapple tu manis sure dah habis dah tau tapi this one is a bit masam wehhh…tak kuasa nak makan macam tu je…so i decided to bake pineapple upside down cake lah..ehehe i know baru je the other day i bake pineapple upside down cupcakes kan! sedap babe! sampai tak cukup i makan the other day..itu pasal buat lagi ni

so here it is…the pineapple upside down cake ye!

and here’s hasya’s feveret jello..cik adik tu bagi jello kosong pun dah suka dah…u know she kan pantang betul kalau nampak i bukak yat’s blog and masa tu ada jello..mesti mintak i buatkan sampai i cakap ngan dia, kalau nak makan jello hari2 pi dok umah aunt yat la..hehe eh lama pulak yat tak tayang jello eh ;)

okay, here’s the recipe for the pineapple upside down cake. took it from here. hmm  yummeh bangat cake ni… i love it especially masa tengah warm warm tu…i makan sampai 2 ketul and then bila the other half balik i tunjuk kat dia, and dia kata laaaa cake ni lagi…tapi bila dah rasa seketul, dia mintak lagi seketul…hmmmm tadi macam tak suka ye ;-)

Topping:

4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) (55 grams) unsalted butter

3/4 cup (160 grams) light brown sugar – i used 1/2 cup je

1 medium pineapple (peeled, quartered, cored, and sliced 1/4 inch thick)

Maraschino cherries or candied cherries (optional) – i tk taruk pun

Cake Batter:

1 1/2 cups (195 grams) all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup (200 grams) granulated white sugar ( i used 3/4 cup)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 large eggs, separated

1/2 cup (120 ml) milk

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

method

Topping: Place the butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan and stir over medium heat until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.

Continue cooking for a few more minutes until the sugar starts to caramelize.

Then remove from heat, and pour into your prepared cake pan. Evenly arrange the fresh pineapple slices on the bottom of the pan. (Can also garnish with cherries.)

Cake Batter: In a large bowl, sift or whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

- beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

-Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then beat in the vanilla extract.

-Add the egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.

- Add the flour mixture (in three additions), alternately with the milk (in two additions), ending with the dry ingredients.

- In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites with the cream of tartar just until the whites hold a firm peak.

-  With a large spatula gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cake batter in two additions.

- Pour the batter into the cake pan, smoothing the top.

- Bake in preheated oven  175 C for 45 - 55 minutes, or until the top of the cake has browned and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan (a toothpick inserted into the cake (not the pineapple) will come out clean).

-  Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes. Run a sharp knife around the edge of the pan and then invert the cake onto your serving plate.

Serve with softly whipped cream.

Makes one - 9 inch (23 cm) cake. Serves 6 to 8. ( i used 6 inch pan)

Note: Can substitute one - 20 ounce (567 gram) can of pineapple slices (drained). Once drained, pat the pineapple slices dry with paper towel and arrange on top of the sugar mixture. Place a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple slice.
