teruja sungguh tengok layer cakes kat sini!
everyday dok plan nak buat tapi asyik lupa beli telur je :(
then last weekend i berjaya beli telur 1 tray yang besor nih :)
dalam hati plan nak buat kejap lagi, then kejap lagi become esok lah then esok become esok lagi satu lah…sampai lah telur yang 30 biji tu tinggal 11 biji je tau!
huh, mana pegi lagi 19 biji tuh? ntah i pun tak tau i buat apa with the other 19 eggs tu..sedar2 dah tinggal 11 biji je
sebab dah lama sangat nak buat layer cake, maka i buat this haw flakes lapis semalam…sebabnya i kan ada 11 biji telur and this cake only needs 10 eggs je :D
uhhhh, sedapnya rasa dia..tak rugi i try tau!
ingat esok nak buat sebijik lagi lah hawflakes lapis ni sebab yang i buat semalam dah i bagi kat my fren’s mom tadi hihi masih tak puas makan, so kena buat lagi lah!

Ingredients
450g butter - (I used anchor)
210g sugar - (i used 120g)
10 eggs - (grade A)
300g Marie biscuits, finely ground
300g sweetened condensed milk
85g sekaya
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tsp baking powder (I didnt use)
2 packs haw flakes - 200 pcs
Food colouring of ur choice
Method
1. Preheat oven 175C.. greased 8x8x3
2. Whisk butter and sugar until white, add eggs one at a time and continue to whisk on high speed until fluffy.
3. Add vanilla essence and beat well... Dont panic if u see ur batter curdle at this stage.
4. Turn speed to low and add sweetened condensed milk and grinded Marie biscuit.. Mix well.
5. Divide batter into 3 or 4 equal parts. Add in your favorite colors in each part, mix well.
6. Bake the first layer with upper and lower fire for 7 – 10 minutes or until the cake well baked7. Then baked 2nd and the rest of the layers using UPPER fire only
8. Bake every colour twice (120g each layer).. add haw flakes on every second layer.. meaning:
yellow
yellow + haw flakes
green
green + haw flakes
pink
pink + haw flakes
purple
purple + haw flakes
7. Bake last layer using upper and lower fire 150C for abt 15 mins (u are better off not to put any haw flakes on the last layer as I hv difficulties slicing my cake – ooops tak perasan this note, so i taruk jugak hawflakes and sorry auntie if u susah nak cut the cake :D) – i baked 7 minutes using the upper and lower fire and then i took the pan out and cover the pan with the aluminium foil and continue to bake for another 8 minuts using upper and lower fire
waaah!zarin..bestnya.akak tak pernah cuba lagi ni..bila la akak nak start buat lapis2 ni agaknya..masuk list lah dulu resepi ni ya..hehe
ReplyDeletebabe..kek lapis nyer pasal ai datang sini...made lapis haw flakes kukus version before....bakar belum try lagik..tak taw bila bule try lagik..lapis memang mabelesss tapi eggs yg tak leh tahan...

ReplyDeleteAn honest question.... is it difficult to do compared to baking other cakes? I tak suka kek lapis, but hubby suka sangat2... if senang mcm other cakes... nak jugak cuba....

ReplyDeletelayer cake ni method dia tk susah sgt just that u have to make sure the butter and sugar tu kena betul2 kembang (high speed) and bila bakar tu kena tekan to make sure tkde air bubble yg keluar..and slalu org tk tahan sbb guna byk telur and also kena buat satu layer satu layer tu yg amik masa sikit
if u nak try, i suggest u try this hawflakes lapis lah dulu sbb yang ni tk guna flour and eggs pun cuma 10 je..if not, buat je 1/2 adunan

btw, good luck and make sure to press sikit setiap layer tu everytime siap bakar so that air bubble tu keluar
u boleh guna sudu je untuk press kan layer tu

lagi satu... apa beza top heat biasa n top heat grill. Am i supposed to use the top heat grill..?
