pandan layer cake pulak??

dah i suka sangat makan layer cake ni so i kenalah buat kan!  kalau i tak buat sendiri, siapa lagi yang nak buatkan for me kan! i rasa kan, dalam banyak banyak cake yang i makan, only layer cake je yang boleh buat i truly enjoy and savour each and every bite tu tau! uhhh sedapnya…dah boleh terbayang dah :D

anyway semalam i baked this pandan layer cake! ini gara gara tak puas makan hawflakes layer cake the other day and gara gara tak tahan keteringinan nak makan sejak memandang dia kat satu blog ni…owhhh, if only my house ni dekat ngan her house, maunya i pi ketuk je pintu rumah dia semata mata nak makan layer cakes dia yang macam macam jenis and cantik cantik gitu ;-)

…hmmm okay, back to my layer cake ni pulak, masa tengah bakar cake tu pun i sungguh sungguh tak sabar nak tunggu habis layers yang banyak tuh…eh, memang tinggi betul cake ni tau sampaikan i tengok my 8x8x3 cake pan tuh tak cukuplah, so ada a few layers i kena bake dlm smaller cake pan and sure lah lapis dia tak setinggi yang previous one tu..

the taste? hmmmmm i love it! owh, i ni kan memang hantu lapis kek, so whenever i took the first bite tu, sure i will have this feeling yang macam berdebar debar sedap ke tidak nihhh….!

since cake ni i yang buat sendiri maka debaran tu laaagi lah kencang tau…siap boleh pejam mata hokkay!  well, worth la i pejam mata dengan jayanya sebab after first bite tu i makan lagi dan makan lagi tau!  sedap la tu kan :D

anyway, thanks a lot to this lovely lady for sharing this recipe….. 

and here’s the recipe i took from her blog..dear! i cnp je ye!

Ingredients
(A)
450g butter - Rima used golden churn and i used anchor 
200g caster sugar  ( i used 150gm je)
21 egg yolks
4 tbsp condensed milk


(B)
160g caster sugar
10 egg whites
1/2 tsp cream of tartar

(C)
270g Hong Kong flour
4 tbsp coconut milk powder (KARA)
1/2 tsp baking powder

(D)
2 tsp green colouring - Rima used powder type for making macarons while i used wilton icing colour – that’s why green dia macam manja sikit ;-) my liquid pandan color dah habis lorrr
2 tsp pandan paste or emulco 

Method
1. Using a stand mixer.. whisk butter, sugar and condense milk till fluffy.. add egg yolks one at a time and continue to whisk till well combined.. set aside
2. In another bowl.. whisk egg white and cream of tartar till bubbly.. add in sugar a little at a time and continue to whisk on high speed till it turns soft/hard peak.
3. Sieve ingredients C and add to ingredients A - (i used mixer to mix it using low speed).. Once mix.. fold in egg white mixture
4. Weigh and divide batter into two equal part.. one part add in pandan paste and green colour.. the other remain plain.
5. Greased 8x8 cake pan and start ur journey of baking 26 layers of batter.. standing and checking and looking at ur cake till u bake ur last layer hahahha
6. Temp that i am using is 175C.. each layer weigh 76g.. grill (upper fire) each layer for 5 mins.. dont forget to spread melted butter on every layer and also bake last layer using upper and lower fire for 15 mins (7 mins into baking cover ur pan with aluminium foil so as to avoid ur cake turns too dark)

p/s my layers tak cukup 26 pun sebab i didn’t weigh it hahaha..ni kes tak sabar nak habis cepat and nak makan :D

  3. hmm bestnyer dah wat kek lapis ye...nak buat kek lapis ni kena ada kesabaran yg tinggi kan......oh mampukah lenda bertahan kalo nak wat selapis demi slapis gitu....
